HALF DEAF CLATCH
Known to his friends as ‘Clatch’, Half Deaf Clatch began his blues journey in December of 2010. He writes, records and produces all of his own work independently and his albums are sold, downloaded and played the world over.
He was nominated in the ‘Best Original Song’ category in The British Blues Awards for his song, ‘I’m No Superman’ in 2013 and made it to the final 15 in the country.
His music has been featured twice recently on the covermount CD of The Blues Magazine and
they also featured Clatch in an article in the January 2014 issue as One To Watch this year.
Clatch’s previous album, ‘A Road Less Travelled’ (December 9th 2013), was the 2nd most played
album on all the IBBA Blues Shows across the world in December 2013 and was also nominated
for Acoustic Album Of TheYear by German magazine Wasser-Prawda, whoalso ran a feature on
him in December.
Clatch released four works in 2013; a 6-track EP of original songs -‘Hard Times Make Me Harder’,
a covers EP - ‘Parlour Blues’, a live studio album of original material - ‘Fruit Trade Sessions’ and
the critically-acclaimed, award-nominated, full-length album of original tracks - ‘A Road Less
Travelled’.
2014 saw the release of ‘The Blues Continuum’ - a 10 track album of original music, and a
re-working of some of his older music brought up to date on the 14-track album ‘Eat Sleep
Stomp Repeat’. He also released 2 covers EPs; ‘Blue Is The Cover’ and‘Borrowed Blues’.
Having spent 4 years successfully establishing himself as a Blues artist, 2014 was definitely a very significant year - gaining a vast amount of
attention and recognition from all corners of the globe...
Over the last couple of years Clatch has had the honour of opening shows for Nine Below Zero,Catfish Keith, Alabama 3, Dave Arcari and Band Of Friends.
as well as performing at Hebden Bridge Blues Festival, Maryport Blues Festival, Aberjazz Blues & Jazz Festival, Shetland. Blues Festival, and Orkney Blues Festival.
2015 has plenty in store too, including supporting Ron Sayer Jr and a double bill with Alex McKown as well as playing at several major Blues Festivals, including Broadstairs Blues Bash, Overton-on-Dee Blues Festival, The Fat Skeleton Blues Festival, The Heart of Rock & Blues Festival - to name but a few!
He was also a finalist in THREE categories in the 2014 British Blues Awards.
